Buying Marni helps children. Original and precious, the special editions of t-shirts, capes, parkas, hats and shopping bags for women and men, are decorated with artwork from kids all over the world. This project offer girls and boys of Brasil, Colombia, Guatemala, Tibet, India and Sierra Leone a brighter future and support their educational development.
“The fairy tale of the lion and the mouse” was the theme for the first project. The teacher read the tale to the children at school, who then depicted in colourful ways their feelings.
For the second project, small groups of children painted all together on big sheets of paper their memories of “A beautiful rainy day”.
Their paintings were printed directly on cotton t-shirts and shopping bags and onto a technical fabric for the capes, parkas and hats turning them into little art pieces. This special edition will be sold exclusively in Marni’s boutiques and on the Marni Virtual Store until their sell-out.
The proceeds will be distributed to educational and development projects, divided between schools and hospitals with the aim of strengthening the capabilities and skills while raising the quality of life, giving each child the opportunity to develop and grow into people responsible for their own lives.

Beginning October 1st, the makers of the beloved Bugaboo strollers will be partnering with RED giving 1% of their total revenue to the Global Fund to help finance AIDS programs in Africa. They are launching several new designs to celebrate this initiative. Madeleen Klaasen, Marketingmanager of Bugaboo, explains more:
kid’s wear magazine: Why Bugaboo decided to cooperate with Red?
MK: Bugaboo was drawn to (RED) as a partner because of its unique way of enabling conscious consumerism; it offers a way to help our customers support causes that are important to them without putting an extra strain on their purse strings. (RED) has an impressive track record in helping families through the Global Fund. For example, to date, (RED) funds have supported Global Fund financed programs that have helped put more than 111,000 people on antiretroviral treatment and have helped more than 70,000 HIV positive pregnant women receive preventative antiretroviral therapy to reduce the risk of mother-to-child transmission. Their core mission of protecting the family mirrors perfectly what is at the heart of the Bugaboo purpose; helping families stay mobile, active and healthy, in particular focusing on mother and child. Ultimately what is important to Bugaboo is important to (RED) and therefore by pairing the two mind sets we feel we can provide our customers with a unique and robust offering that helps deliver what they need practically, emotionally and now philanthropically.
kid’s wear magazine: What means the slogan: “Go and good things happen”?
MK: When you go, you have the chance to discover and experience new things with your child. You get inspired, meet new people, have new ideas. And these are good things. Now when you go with Bugaboo, more good things happen because Bugaboo is contributing 1% of all revenue to The Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. This means more women and children living with HIV in Africa will get the medicine they need to lead more active, productive and hopeful live. www.bugaboo.com
