Polo Ralph Lauren will introduce its Childrenswear Autumn 2010 collection with the launch of The RL Gang on the 18th of august, an interactive virtual storybook narrated by Harry Connick, Jr. A modern departure from the traditional fashion show, this innovative digital platform provides an exciting new way for children and their parents to shop the latest back-to-school fall fashions online while also engaging in a fun and entertaining experience. Launching in exclusive partnership with Bloomingdale’s, the virtual storybook is yet another extension of Polo Ralph Lauren’s dedication in pioneering online marketing with unique concepts.

Designed for readers 2-8 years old, the story unfolds as eight characters in The RL Gang embark on their adventurous first day back to school. Each character’s personality comes to life through their individual sense of style as the virtual storybook showcases 24 new looks from the Ralph Lauren Childrenswear Fall collection.

For the first month, 15% of all proceeds from the sale of the Childrenswear Fall collection on Polo Ralph Lauren homepage will benefit the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music (EMCM) located in The Musician’s Village. Conceived in part by Harry Connick, Jr., The Musician’s Village is a cornerstone of the Habitat for Humanity post-Katrina reconstruction of New Orleans.

Olive Loves Alfie - Kids project “Dress Up And Be Happy” was launched at LolliBop Festival 2010, London

olivelovesalfie

Inspired by Woodstock and taking the festival feeling of free spirits, music and summer, Olive Loves Alfie created a magical space for kids to play with their unique sense of style.

The woodland dressing up camp was wrapped up in bunting made from frayed vintage denim as well as Katvig and Marimekko fabrics. The tree trunks were tied up with oversized ribbons and an open air photographic studio was created with patchwork quilts from Danish home wares brand Rice.

A beautiful selection of vintage clothing, Olive Loves Alfie’s customized festival clothing and specially designed accessories were displayed on clothes rails or piled high in vintage suitcases that were hidden amongst the trees. With irrepressible invention over two anarchic days the kids created a joyous array of improvised outfits and exuberant dressing-up styles themselves.

Style shots were taken of all the kids which are being compiled into a Olive Loves Alfie festival style book on our website.
