Smiling Planet is one of those little companies that just makes you happy.
Recently this wonderful, environmentally-committed mom and pop team have taken the charming Antoine de Saint-Exupéry-esque illustrations from the Smiling Planet book (and plates and placemats) and turned them into adorable, American-made 100% organic cotton tees for kids and adults.
I love the not preachy at all the world is wonder full, let’s make her smile, featuring an illustrated chain of people and animals surrounding the earth. It’s a great way to wear your values on your shirt (or kid’s shirt) without being dogmatic and kind of obnoxious.
The Ohm-saying yoga alligators are pretty cute too. But of course as a mom I’ve also got a fondness for the meditating lion that reads make your mother happy.
Find the new organic tees for kids and adults and so much more at Smiling Planet

Essentially Freddy and Olivia Deane have devised a way to make dishes out of a recycled polypropylene plastic that’s free of BPA, Phthalates, melamine and all that other stuff you hear about in scary news stories these days. Even the packaging is eco-d up the whazoo.
Each plate features a different illustration from the Smiling Planet children’s book they designed about being good to the Earth. Take a look and you’ll know right away why the simple, endearing, line drawings remind me of something out of the Little Prince.
My picks: The smiling whale (shown here), world peace, and the teeny elephant — despite the fact that it makes those three organic baby carrots you’re forcing your kids to eat at dinner really, really big.

A friendly monster designed for the occasion by artist Laure Guilhot and the photographer Andrea Weber, those are the main ingredients kid’s wear magazine will be using to build a wall of pictures of the visitors face to face with the monster. 3 days, no more and no less, to achieve the monstrous tapestry!
All pictures will then be on kid’s wear’s blog.
Looking forward to see you in Paris!
